Our trip up north to the beautiful Island of Penang.
We’re finally back home from our Judging of Obedience and Agility Trials organized by PAAPP or Penang Dog Agility Associations. I must says we were treated so well by the PAAPP peoples. We eat and live like Kings and Queens. Penang has lots of good foods. Similar yet different from Singapore.
The Dog Agility people in Malaysia are a bunch of good people and we had lots of fun together trialing and competiting. They love for their dogs and training them to this level is such a sight to behold. Trialers are from Penang and Kuala Lumpur, very warm and friendly people.
The venue of the event is an indoor Aircon Basketball court, a very neat and conducsive environment to hold Obedience and Agility Competitions. I wonder is there such a venue available in Singapore. The basketball flooring provide a good grip on the ground and with the carpet laying over it, provide a stable flooring for dog sports such as Obedience and Agility.
In the Obedience trials, we do have Pre-Novice, Novice, Intermediate & Open Class. While in the agility trials, we have Novice Agility , Open Agility, JWW Novice, JWW Open, Elementary, Basic Jumpers, Gamblers test 1 and Gamblers Test 2.
Overall a very successful event. I believe all trialers are treated with course designs that provide challenges on speed, control and skills.
On another note, we want to congrats PAAPP for their IFCS Associate memberships and with this new affiliation, I believe it will help to promote and improve the Standard of Dog Agility in Malaysia and in Asia.
