INNER STRENGTH

INNER STRENGTH

If you can start the day without caffeine or pep pills,
If you can be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,
If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,
If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful for it,
If you can understand when loved ones are too busy to give you time,
If you can overlook people taking things out on you when it's not your fault and something goes wrong,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,
If you can face the world without lies and deceit,
If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without liquor and if you can sleep without the aid of drugs...
THEN YOU ARE PROBABLY A DOG.

Our trip up north to Penang!

Our trip up north to the beautiful Island of Penang.

We’re finally back home from our Judging of Obedience and Agility Trials organized by PAAPP or Penang Dog Agility Associations. I must says we were treated so well by the PAAPP peoples. We eat and live like Kings and Queens. Penang has lots of good foods. Similar yet different from Singapore.

The Dog Agility people in Malaysia are a bunch of good people and we had lots of fun together trialing and competiting. They love for their dogs and training them to this level is such a sight to behold. Trialers are from Penang and Kuala Lumpur, very warm and friendly people.

The venue of the event is an indoor Aircon Basketball court, a very neat and conducsive environment to hold Obedience and Agility Competitions. I wonder is there such a venue available in Singapore. The basketball flooring provide a good grip on the ground and with the carpet laying over it, provide a stable flooring for dog sports such as Obedience and Agility.

In the Obedience trials, we do have Pre-Novice, Novice, Intermediate & Open Class. While in the agility trials, we have Novice Agility , Open Agility, JWW Novice, JWW Open, Elementary, Basic Jumpers, Gamblers test 1 and Gamblers Test 2.

Overall a very successful event. I believe all trialers are treated with course designs that provide challenges on speed, control and skills.

On another note, we want to congrats PAAPP for their IFCS Associate memberships and with this new affiliation, I believe it will help to promote and improve the Standard of Dog Agility in Malaysia and in Asia.

The Cynosport Games will not be returning to Scottsdale, Arizona next year!

The Cynosport Games will not be returning to Scottsdale, Arizona next year!

From the news page at the USDAA website discussing yesterday's opening ceremony!

The only announcement that was not related to awards may have been the one that received the most lively crowd reaction. The Cynosport Games will not be returning to Scottsdale, Arizona next year. Although the WestWorld site is ideal in many ways, USDAA has worked to find other locations so that competitors will not have to travel to the same city every year. In 2010, the Games will take place in either Philadelphia or Kentucky. The event will be held earlier in the fall to take advantage of the area's nicest weather.

More information will be coming soon.

(To my best knowledge)

How Many Dogs Do You Need to Change a Lightbulb?

How Many Dogs Do You Need to Change a Lightbulb?

BOXER
Who cares? I can play with my squeaky toys in the dark.

GREYHOUND
It isn't moving. Who cares?

LABRADOR RETRIEVER
Oh, me, me, me!!!!! Pleeeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Can I? Pleeeeeeeze? Please, please, please?

GOLDER RETRIEVER
The day is young. The sun is shining. We've got our whole lives ahead of us. And you're inside the house worrying about a burned out bulb?

JACK RUSSELL TERRIER
I'll just pop it in while I'm bouncing off the furniture and walls.

COCKER SPANIEL
Why bother changing it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark.

AUSTRALIAN SHEPERD
First, let me put all the light bulbs in a little circle...

ROTTWEILER
Try and make me.

CHIHUAHUA
Yo quiero Taco Bulb. Or - We don't need no stinkin' light bulb!

BORDER COLLIE
Just one. Then I'll replace any wiring I find that's not up to code.

OLD ENGLISH SHEEP DOG
What light bulb? I'm sorry, but I don't see any light bulb!

GERMAN SHEPERD
I'll change it as soon as I've led these people out of the dark, checked to make sure I haven't missed anyone and made one last perimeter patrol to see that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation.

DACHSHUND
You know I can't reach that dumb lamp!

POODLE
Let me just blow in the border collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails should be dry.
